Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brent Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Job McKnight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brent Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Job McKnight!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murphy moves into the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Murphy.

McKnight's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Murphy tries for a takedown but McKnight circles away easily

and McKnight counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Murphy wants to control but McKnight is keeping busy and won't allow it.
McKnight is trying to control. Murphy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
McKnight throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
McKnight trying to control from half guard but Murphy is working away.

McKnight decides to return to a standing position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McKnight displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Murphy.
Murphy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McKnight circles away quickly and effectively.

McKnight feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McKnight looking to pass the guard.
McKnight wants to control from the top but Murphy keeps moving.
McKnight wants to stand but Murphy is controlling his posture from full guard.
McKnight slips nicely into half guard.
Murphy moves into full guard.

Murphy is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Murphy working hard to break the clinch.
Murphy is looking to control McKnight's arms but McKnight gets an underhook and turns him. Now Murphy has his back to the cage.

McKnight is trying to trip Murphy. He has hold of a leg but Murphy is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. McKnight persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

McKnight stands and steps away. Murphy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Murphy moves into the clinch.

McKnight gets control of Murphy's arms and successfully pulls guard. McKnight will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

McKnight manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Murphy has McKnight up against the cage in a clinch.
Murphy is trying to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murphy tries to break the clinch but McKnight is controlling the position.
Murphy is trying to pull guard but McKnight has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brent Murphy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Murphy breaks the clinch.

McKnight drives through with a takedown into guard.
McKnight trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Murphy has his hands on McKnight's head, controlling the position.
Murphy wants to sweep here but McKnight controlling him for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

McKnight stands and steps away. Murphy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
A slow jab from McKnight misses its intended target.
McKnight shoots in looking for a takedown but Murphy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McKnight's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

McKnight pushes Murphy up against the cage in a clinch.
Murphy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McKnight walks away with a smile on his face. Murphy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McKnight tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Murphy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Murphy gets caught napping as McKnight dives in and scores a takedown. Murphy manages to retain guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Murphy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McKnight doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Murphy is tightening it up a little... McKnight has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! McKnight reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! McKnight taps out! Nice BJJ there by Murphy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Brent Murphy!
