Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peeta Mellark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Potkukelkka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peeta Mellark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Potkukelkka!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mellark tries to clinch up.
Potkukelkka just misses with a punch to the body.
Mellark moves in looking to clinch but Potkukelkka pushes him off.
Mellark throws a right hand that Potkukelkka ducks under and follows up with a left that Potkukelkka also avoids with ease.
Mellark fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Potkukelkka manages to avoid it.
Potkukelkka tried to score with a low kick but Mellark checks it.
Potkukelkka misses with a looping left.
Crunch! Potkukelkka slams his shin into Mellark's torso.
Potkukelkka throws a solid leg kick but Mellark takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Potkukelkka.
Mellark tries a head kick but it misses.
Some wild striking there from Mellark.
Potkukelkka lands a nice looking kick to the body. Mellark takes a step back to recover.
Mellark swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Potkukelkka counters with a good low kick that Mellark was not able to check.
Mellark falls off balance throwing a combination
and Potkukelkka counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mellark lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Potkukelkka has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Potkukelkka and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Potkukelkka throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mellark tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Potkukelkka is in Mellark's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Potkukelkka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mellark works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Potkukelkka cracks Mellark with a solid left hand.
Potkukelkka trying to control the position from guard on top but Mellark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mellark not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Potkukelkka trying to control but Mellark is working from the bottom.
Potkukelkka wants to pass the guard but Mellark is keeping the position.
Potkukelkka with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Potkukelkka throwing strikes but missing.
Potkukelkka works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Potkukelkka wants to free his trapped foot but Mellark is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Potkukelkka wants to control but Mellark is keeping him busy.
Potkukelkka throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Potkukelkka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mellark does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Potkukelkka might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mellark kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Potkukelkka wants to pass to mount but Mellark is defending the position.
Mellark blocking the ground and pound attempt from Potkukelkka.

Potkukelkka trying to control from Mellark's half guard. Mellark has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Potkukelkka stopping the sweep attempt from Mellark.
Potkukelkka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mellark swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Potkukelkka trying to control the position from guard on top but Mellark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mellark is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mellark keeping moving, preventing Potkukelkka from controlling successfully.
Potkukelkka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Potkukelkka looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

James Potkukelkka has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mellark scores with a jab to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Potkukelkka. That snapped Mellark's head back.
Potkukelkka steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mellark. That one must have hurt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mellark swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mellark takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Potkukelkka avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Potkukelkka dominated that round.
That's time! Mellark's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mellark throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Potkukelkka fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mellark avoids it really well and circles away.
Potkukelkka throws a shot to the body.
Nice body punch from Potkukelkka.
Peeta Mellark is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mellark tries to sprawl but Potkukelkka drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mellark is trying to get back to full guard.
Potkukelkka passes to full mount!
Potkukelkka landing shots from mount.
Potkukelkka scoring with strikes but Mellark is staying in there.

Potkukelkka misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Mellark tries to hold on but Potkukelkka pushes him away.
Mellark is squirming around, avoiding Potkukelkka's attempts to control the action.
Potkukelkka looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.


Mellark is rocked!
Potkukelkka postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Mellark bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Potkukelkka and the fight is over!
