Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Horse Spudd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lord Viceroy!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viceroy keeps the fight on the outside.
Spudd uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Viceroy.

Viceroy gets tackled into the cage by Spudd. Spudd maintains the clinch.
Spudd softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Viceroy's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Spudd pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lord Viceroy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Viceroy throws a right hand that Spudd ducks under and follows up with a left that Spudd also avoids with ease.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Spudd drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Viceroy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Spudd has Viceroy in his guard.
Viceroy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Spudd shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Viceroy's guard.
Spudd keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Viceroy's head.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Spudd here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Spudd is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Viceroy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Viceroy has escaped and now he's on top!

Spudd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Viceroy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Viceroy can do anything to dispel that myth.

Spudd shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Viceroy sprawls well. Viceroy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Spudd gets slowly back to his feet.

Spudd fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Viceroy, pushing him back against the cage.

Spudd has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Viceroy is trying to keep an underhook but Spudd manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Spudd is looking for a kimura but Viceroy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Spudd to get the leverage.
