Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cruz Vito!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vito shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Amaral but Amaral pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vito fails to land the takedown.
Amaral throws a series of punches but Vito moves out of range.
Amaral scores with a sloppy right hand. Vito should have avoided that one.
Vito ducks right into an uppercut from Amaral.
Amaral tries to bum rush Vito with a series of wild strikes but Vito uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Amaral lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Vito shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Vito throwing shots but Amaral is blocking nicely.
Nice strikes from Vito there.
Vito prevents Amaral from standing back up.
Amaral knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vito on the ground.

Vito throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Amaral holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Vito thows a huge punch but Amaral dodges it nicely.
Vito thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Amaral's head.
Vito not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Amaral is looking to improve his position.

Vito with the ground and pound but Amaral uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Amaral working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Vito.

Vito has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Amaral is on top in guard.

Vito is looking to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Amaral is pressing down on Vito's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vito is holding on for now.
Amaral moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Vito.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vito can do anything to dispel that myth.
Vito is looking for a sweep.
Vito throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

Amaral controlling from side mount.
Vito is looking to reverse the position.
Vito tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Vito is looking for a sweep.
Vito misses with an elbow from the bottom.

Amaral takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Vito to pass into mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vito is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Vito throwing hammer fists to the chest of Amaral. What's that going to do exactly?
Vito swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Amaral takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Vito flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Vito is trying desperately to improve position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Amaral blocks Vito's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rafael Amaral will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Amaral lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Vito looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Amaral connects with a right hand. Vito shakes it off.
Amaral swinging wildly here.
Amaral misses with a few strikes there.
Amaral bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Rafael Amaral is winning the standup battle so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Amaral cracks Vito with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Vito walks forward, straight into a front kick from Amaral.
A slapping leg kick lands for Amaral.
Vito is breathing heavily.
Amaral scores with a one two! Vito had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


Vito is rocked!
Amaral is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Amaral shuts the power down on Vito. Lights out, game over! Amaral is your winner.
