Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Heisman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunt comes to the cage accompanied by Super Massive Black Hole. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, TJ Heisman!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt needs to keep his hands up - Heisman had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Robert Hunt has been cut.
Heisman getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Hunt scores a takedown into full mount!
Poor strikes thrown by Hunt there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Heisman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Heisman manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Heisman, under a barage of strikes from Hunt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Heisman wants to improve his position but Hunt is controlling well.

Hunt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hunt thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Heisman's head.
Hunt throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hunt with the ground and pound but Heisman uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Hunt postures up in Heisman's guard and throws a big left but Heisman blocks it.
Hunt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Heisman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hunt manages to get himself to full guard.

Hunt looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Heisman has picked Hunt up and slammed him! Hunt can't keep hold of the triangle and Heisman manages to pass to side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunt regains half guard there - taking advantage of Heisman's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Heisman wants to get back to his feet.

Hunt is staying active underneath Heisman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Heisman with the ground and pound but Hunt uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Hunt keeping moving, preventing Heisman from controlling successfully.
Heisman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Heisman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Heisman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Heisman is looking to work some ground and pound but Hunt has wrist control.
Heisman is stalling in the full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. TJ Heisman wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hunt shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Heisman defends it nicely.
Hunt uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Heisman.
TJ Heisman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Heisman leaves Hunt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

TJ Heisman dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Robert Hunt's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Heisman looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Hunt throwing strikes from guard but Heisman blocks nicely.
Hunt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Heisman has Hunt pulled in close to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up. TJ Heisman was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Heisman sprawls well. Heisman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hunt gets slowly back to his feet.
Robert Hunt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No joy there for Heisman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hunt fails with the takedown.
Heisman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hunt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Heisman circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Hunt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Heisman shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hunt eats them both and turns towards Heisman to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
No luck for Hunt with that takedown attempt.
Hunt shoots in but Heisman avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Heisman is fending him off so far but Hunt persists. Nope, Heisman circles away and we're back to standing.
Heisman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hunt is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Heisman.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Heisman cracks Hunt with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hunt looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Heisman finish him?


Hunt is rocked!


Robert Hunt's cut is getting worse.
Heisman lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Hunt up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Heisman from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Hunt's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). TJ Heisman!
