Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anzor Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Riordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anzor Greene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Riordan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Greene closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Riordan's guard.
Greene throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Riordan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Riordan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Greene.
Riordan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Greene's guard.
Riordan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Riordan trying to control but Greene is working from the bottom.
Greene throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Greene is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Riordan is controlling him.

Riordan gets to his feet. Greene looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Riordan leaves Greene with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Riordan rushes Greene and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Riordan gets control of Greene's arms and successfully pulls guard. Riordan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Greene with a flurry of punches that miss.
Greene throws an elbow that misses. Riordan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Greene's guard. Nice move by Riordan!
Greene wants to stand and escape but Riordan is having none of it.
Greene lands a decent shot there.
Greene striking off his back but it's not causing Riordan any problems.
Riordan trying to control but Greene is working from the bottom.
Greene is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Riordan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Riordan stuffs the takedown.
Greene fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Greene keeps the fight on the outside.
Riordan fails with the takedown.
Greene throws a nice looking combination but Riordan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Riordan moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Riordan throws a series of punches but Greene avoids them all with ease.
Riordan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Riordan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Greene lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Riordan circles away quickly and effectively.
Greene fails to land with a series of punches.
Riordan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Riordan is looking to clinch.

Greene goes for a takedown in the clinch but Riordan prevents it.

Greene is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Greene tries to throw a body punch but Riordan avoids it by throwing Greene back against the cage.
Riordan blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Riordan pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Riordan is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Greene stands and steps away. Riordan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Tommy Riordan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice sprawl there from Riordan as Greene shoots in.

Greene shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Riordan napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Greene scores with a couple of short elbows.
Greene working the strikes but Riordan uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Riordan has hold of Greene's hands but Greene slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Riordan works his way to full guard. Good work.
Riordan looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Riordan can't keep his opponent in guard - Greene advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Greene wants to stand up but Riordan has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Greene looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Riordan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Greene wants to free his trapped foot but Riordan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Greene passes the guard and advances to mount!
A nice elbow there by Greene.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Greene lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Greene scoring with strikes but Riordan is staying in there.
Greene is landing with some decent strikes but Riordan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Greene lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anzor Greene dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Riordan tries to clinch but Greene is having none of it.

Greene feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Riordan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Greene has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Riordan wants to get back to his feet but Greene is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Riordan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Greene doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Greene manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Riordan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Riordan is breathing heavily.
Riordan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Greene manages to get himself to full guard.

Riordan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Greene manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Greene shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Riordan defends it nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Riordan. No joy for Greene on that attempt.

Riordan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Greene's half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Greene looks like he's trying to stand up.
Greene tries to kick Riordan off in order to stand up. Riordan Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Greene keeping his opponent close.

Riordan decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Greene is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Riordan's half guard.

Greene is nestled in close to Riordan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Greene works his foot free and advances to mount.
Greene scoring with strikes but Riordan is staying in there.

Anzor Greene overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Riordan is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Greene fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Riordan is still in real trouble! Can Greene finish him?
Riordan tries to lock up and control but Greene gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Greene knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Riordan on the ground.
Greene pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Greene landing strikes from the mount and Riordan is in trouble!
Greene postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Riordan in real trouble here! The ref calls for Riordan to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anzor Greene!
