PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Francesco Luongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eron Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luongo comes to the cage accompanied by Don't You Worry Child. Eron Silva told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eron Silva!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luongo scores with a one two! Silva had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
A swing and a miss from Luongo.
Luongo scores with a nice head shot.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Luongo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Luongo looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely.
Luongo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Silva.
Luongo clobbers Silva with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Luongo connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Luongo, as that shot connected.
Silva tries to clinch up but Luongo circles away and keeps his distance.
Luongo keeps the fight on the outside.
A big right from Luongo misses.

and Luongo counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva misses with a series of wild punches.
Silva tries to clinch but Luongo is having none of it.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Luongo's head.
Silva is keen to just control but Luongo is a slippery customer.
Luongo wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Luongo wants to improve his position but Silva is controlling well.
Silva takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Luongo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Silva seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva tries to stand but can't do so whilst Luongo controls his leg.
Silva working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Silva moves into full mount! Luongo won't be happy about that!

Luongo avoids a series of strikes thrown by Silva.

Silva throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Luongo wants to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
Silva wants to control the pace but Luongo is squirming around nicely.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Silva cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva drops a big elbow. That's hurt Luongo! More shots from Silva and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
