The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norton ducks under a wild hook from Hobbs.
Norton throws a hook but Hobbs avoids it easily.

Hobbs dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hobbs avoids a punch combination nicely.
Norton leaves Hobbs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hobbs landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Hobbs lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Norton wants to get back to full guard.
Hobbs seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hobbs working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hobbs moves nicely into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hobbs lands with some strikes.
Norton working to try and regain half guard.

Norton is squirming around, avoiding Hobbs's attempts to control the action.
Hobbs in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Norton is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hobbs can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Norton is looking to escape.

Hobbs pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Hobbs postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Norton in real trouble here! The ref calls for Norton to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
