Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Big Pappa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Bromley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Big Pappa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Bromley!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bromley tries a head kick but it misses.

Bromley drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Bromley showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Pappa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bromley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bromley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bromley wants to control from the top but Pappa keeps moving.
Bromley sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Pappa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bromley on the ground.

Pappa looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pappa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pappa is controlling Bromley's posture.

Bromley wants to control from the top but Pappa keeps moving.
Bromley distracts Pappa with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Pappa wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Bromley prevents Pappa from getting back to his feet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. David Bromley wasn't active enough on the ground.
Bromley just misses with a punch to the body.

Pappa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bromley throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pappa misses the shot to the body.

Pappa instigates a clinch.
Pappa has Bromley pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bromley manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Bromley tries to clinch but Pappa is having none of it.
Pappa shoots in for a double leg but Bromley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Big Pappa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bromley misses the jab.

Bromley takes the fight into the clinch.
Bromley tries to throw a body punch but Pappa avoids it by throwing Bromley back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pappa changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bromley fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bromley throws a shot to the body.
Pappa is breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown by Pappa or perhaps it was just good defense by Bromley which made him look bad.

Pappa closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bromley quickly recovers to half guard.
Pappa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bromley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pappa is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bromley is trying to stand.
The fighters are battling for position here. Bromley manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Bromley is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Pappa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bromley tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bromley pushes Pappa off and scrambles back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pappa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bromley lands a jab-cross combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Bromley dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Bromley moves into range and clinches up with Pappa.
Bromley is trying to maintain a safe position but Pappa gets an underhook and turns Bromley into the cage.

Bromley lands a takedown into guard.
Pappa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bromley kicks off Pappa and gets to his feet.
Bromley tries to clinch up.

Pappa moves into the clinch.
Bromley gets underhooks to prevent Pappa's takedown attempt.
Bromley stalls.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

and Bromley counters with a right hand to the body.
Bromley fails to land the takedown.
Bromley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pappa moves away.
Pappa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bromley pinned against the cage. Bromley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pappa gets in close and instigates a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Pappa throws an elbow but misses.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Pappa can't get the takedown.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bromley.
Pappa tries to break free but Bromley pushes him back against the cage.
Pappa working hard to break the clinch.
Bromley is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Pappa tries to pull guard but Bromley forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Still in the clinch, Pappa scores with a nice short uppercut.
Pappa jumps guard but Bromley turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Pappa manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bromley tries to free his leg and advance position but Pappa is retaining full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bromley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pappa's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Bromley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Pappa moves out of range of the strikes.
Bromley throws a body punch but Pappa moves out of range.
Pappa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pappa rushes Bromley and presses him up against the cage.
Pappa on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Bromley looking to throw knees to the head but Pappa is blocking nicely.
Pappa tries for a takedown. No joy.
Pappa goes for a takedown attempt but Bromley pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bromley misses with a double jab
and Pappa counters with an outside leg kick.
Pappa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bromley drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bromley wants to control but Pappa is keeping him busy.

Pappa tries to improve position but can't.

Bromley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pappa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bromley goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Pappa rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bromley's guard! Nice work there by Pappa!

Bromley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pappa shoots in and drives through. Bromley sprawls well.

Bromley throws a lazy right hand but Pappa sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Pappa checks a leg kick.
Pappa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Pappa shoots in for a takedown but Bromley shows good takedown defense.

Bromley wants to slow Pappa down by chopping away at his legs.

Pappa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bromley.
Bromley throws a right and a left that Pappa avoids nicely.

Pappa shoots in looking for a takedown but Bromley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pappa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bromley throws the left hand but Pappa avoids the punch easily.
Pappa pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bromley is out of range and Pappa settles back down.
David Bromley is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Bromley stuffs the takedown.
Pappa avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Bromley closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pappa's guard.
Bromley is stalling in the full guard.

David Bromley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bromley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
