Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnold Wernicki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Arnold Wernicki!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Morgan moves into the clinch successfully.

Morgan has Wernicki pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Morgan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wernicki tumbling to the mat - Morgan dives into Wernicki's guard.
Wernicki is looking to stand up but Morgan isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morgan landing some decent shots from guard.
Morgan's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Morgan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Morgan stands and throws Wernicki's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Wernicki is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Morgan is trying to get an arm triangle but Wernicki is defending well.

Morgan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Wernicki struggling a bit here.
Morgan lands an elbow.
Morgan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Morgan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wernicki knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Wernicki's face as Morgan controls the position.

Morgan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wernicki has escaped the position, nice work there.
Morgan is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wernicki will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Morgan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wernicki rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Morgan's guard! Nice work there by Wernicki!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Morgan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Wernicki is looking to work some ground and pound but Morgan has wrist control.

Wernicki wants to control from the top but Morgan keeps moving.

Wernicki throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morgan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Morgan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wernicki is one step ahead there.

Morgan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wernicki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Morgan is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Morgan clinches up against the cage.

Morgan has Wernicki pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Morgan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wernicki tumbling to the mat - Morgan dives into Wernicki's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wernicki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Morgan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morgan trying to control but Wernicki is working from the bottom.
Wernicki manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Morgan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Morgan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wernicki moves away.
Wernicki shoots in and drives through. Morgan sprawls well.
Morgan blocks a head kick by Wernicki.

Morgan closes the distance and clinches.

Morgan lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Morgan content to control rather than advance.
Wernicki gets back to full guard.
Morgan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Eric Morgan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Morgan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Morgan controls from within his opponent's guard.
Morgan cracks Wernicki with a solid left hand.
Morgan tries to free his leg and advance position but Wernicki is retaining full guard.
Morgan scoring with some ground and pound.
Morgan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Wernicki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Morgan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Morgan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Morgan trying to control the position from guard on top but Wernicki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Wernicki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Morgan is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Eric Morgan.
Wernicki throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Wernicki has his takedown stuffed

and Morgan counters by moving into the clinch.
Morgan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wernicki's elbow.
Wernicki jumps guard but Morgan stands there with Wernicki around his waist. Wernicki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Eric Morgan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arnold Wernicki.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Morgan is pressed up against the cage. Wernicki has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Morgan down to the mat. Morgan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Wernicki is breathing heavily.

Morgan moves into the clinch.

Wernicki goes for a takedown attempt but Morgan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Morgan drives through and clinches with Wernicki against the cage.

Morgan has clasped his hands together around Wernicki's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Wernicki takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Morgan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wernicki is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Morgan advances to mount.
Morgan is landing with some decent strikes but Wernicki is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Morgan mounts Wernicki! Really nice guard pass there!
Morgan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wernicki tries to get back to half guard but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morgan lands a big shot there that rocks Wernicki but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Morgan is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Morgan extends the arm and Wernicki is forced to tap!
