And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Irving Brown!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fontes moves away.
Fontes throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.

Fontes lands a big head kick that sends Brown tumbling to the mat! Fontes takes a step backwards and waves Brown back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Irving Brown has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown throws a shot to the body.
Brown lands a left and a right that send Fontes crashing to the mat, dazed. Brown thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

A solid leg kick lands there for Brown.
Fontes is breathing heavily.
Brown moves into range and clinches up with Fontes.
Fontes tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Brown avoids it.

Fontes is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Brown is keeping busy.

Brown's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Brown connects with a nice looking jab.
Brown connects with the punch.
Brown throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fontes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brown feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Fontes sprawling to the canvas! Fontes rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Brown finish him?!
Fontes is rocked!
Fontes throws a body kick that misses
and Brown counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Fontes out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Brown is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Irving Brown!
