The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voda cracks Chekhemani with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Voda swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Voda drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Voda looking to control but instead Chekhemani has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Voda seems to be working for a kimura but Chekhemani defends the submission attempt.

Voda is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chekhemani doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Voda.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Voda connects with a nice short shot to Chekhemani's temple.

Voda is looking to take a break and control but Chekhemani is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Voda looks up at the clock and then as Chekhemani takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Voda smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Voda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chekhemani keeps working.
Voda has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chekhemani is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Voda doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Chekhemani crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Chekhemani's bad books for that mishap!
