Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kichiro Kaneko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshall Noir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noir has chosen Pride as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kichiro Kaneko!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Marshall Noir!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noir checks a low kick from Kaneko.
Kaneko scores with a body shot.
Noir misses with a low kick as Kaneko jumps back.
Kaneko fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kaneko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Noir as he avoids it easily.

Kaneko closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Noir to the mat! Noir manages to get full guard.
Noir wants to sweep here but Kaneko controlling him for the moment.
Noir pulls Kaneko in close to his closed guard and prevents Kaneko from doing any damage or advancing position.
Noir is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Noir is pulling down on Kaneko's head. It's preventing any offense from Kaneko, at least for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kaneko fails with a takedown attempt.
Noir shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Kaneko rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Noir counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Noir stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kaneko.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Noir is defended easily by Kaneko.
Kaneko thuds his right hand into Noir's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Noir.
Noir shoots for a double leg takedown but Kaneko sprawls well. He's pushed Noir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kaneko stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kaneko chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Noir can pounce on him.

Noir shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kaneko napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kaneko can't do much from the bottom here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kaneko tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Noir presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Noir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kaneko but Kaneko pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Noir moves forwards but Kaneko connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Kaneko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Noir paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kaneko throws a front kick aimed at Noir's knee but Noir avoids it well.
Kaneko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kaneko.
Kaneko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Noir pinned against the cage. Noir gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Noir moves forwards but Kaneko connects with a nice, crisp jab.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kaneko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Noir has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kaneko's face.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kaneko is trying desperately to improve position.
Noir sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Let's hope that Noir has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kaneko moves in looking to clinch but Noir pushes him off.

Noir shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kaneko sprawls well. Kaneko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Noir gets slowly back to his feet.

Noir bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
