The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szczerbiec throws a big shot that misses.
Szczerbiec connects with a high kick.
It looks like Andy Westwood has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Szczerbiec looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Szczerbiec moves to clinch but Westwood breaks away
and Westwood counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Szczerbiec's guard now.
Westwood lands a couple of elbows.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Westwood is pushing down on Szczerbiec's leg trying to pass to half guard. Szczerbiec is fighting to maintain full guard but Westwood has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Szczerbiec looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Westwood connects with a nice short shot to Szczerbiec's temple.
Szczerbiec really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Westwood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Szczerbiec is trying to stand up here but Westwood is controlling him well.
Westwood keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Szczerbiec has hold of Westwood's hands but Westwood slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Szczerbiec has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Westwood escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Westwood!
Westwood has hold of Szczerbiec's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Szczerbiec tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Westwood cranks the arm and Szczerbiec screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Szczerbiec, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Andy Westwood!
Andy Westwood very nearly forgot to thank KAISER amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
