Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between J Blunts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blunts's entrance music is Meek Mill - Polo & Shell Tops. A fine choice. Ronnie Riley has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ronnie Riley!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley thows a leg kick but Blunts checks it
and Blunts counters with a head kick. That will keep Riley thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Blunts dives in and scores a takedown into Riley's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Blunts wants to control from the top but Riley keeps moving.
Riley is pulling down on Blunts's head to control his posture.
Riley wants to sweep here but Blunts controlling him for the moment.
Riley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blunts's guard.

Blunts had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Riley defends it easily.
Riley won't allow Blunts to sweep him here.

Riley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Riley pushes down on Blunts's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blunts is looking to reverse the position.

Riley decides to stand up, so the ref orders Blunts to his feet.

Blunts steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Riley.
Riley throws the kick towards the body but Blunts avoids it.

Riley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Riley lands a jab.
Riley moves in looking to clinch but Blunts pushes him off.
Blunts just misses with a punch to the body.
Blunts takes a swing at Riley's ribcage but misses.

Blunts slips a straight right by Riley.
Riley misses with an uppercut. Blunts saw that one coming.
Riley fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Blunts is out of range.

Riley forces Blunts back against the cage and clinches.
Riley is pushing Blunts up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Blunts can't find room to land a body shot as Riley controls the action.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Riley using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Blunts has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Blunts breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Good leg kick by Blunts there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Blunts lands a nice looking kick to the body. Riley takes a step back to recover.

That was a close round but I would say that J Blunts will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Riley takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Blunts throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Riley clobbers Blunts with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Riley keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Ronnie Riley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Riley misses with a looping right.
Blunts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Blunts fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Riley stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Blunts takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Riley goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Riley moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Riley avoids the body shot from Blunts.
Blunts just misses with a punch to the body.
Riley tries a head kick but it misses.
Blunts chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Riley can pounce on him.
Blunts connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Riley's hands.
Blunts on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Blunts throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Riley moves in looking to clinch but Blunts pushes him off.

Riley looks to land a body kick but Blunts moved away.
Blunts fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Riley has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Blunts shoots in for a double leg but Riley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for J Blunts. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Riley tries to lock up and control but Blunts gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Blunts unloads with some shots from mount but Riley bucks and avoids them well.
Blunts looking to ground and pound but Riley is blocking nicely.
J Blunts overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
