Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen cult of personality as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Lucas wants to stand and escape but Gracie is having none of it.

Lucas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lucas has his feet on Gracie's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lucas won't be happy with that.

Lucas is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control.

Gracie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Lucas moves into range and clinches up with Gracie.
Lucas tries to circle away but Gracie has him pinned against the ropes.

Gracie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lucas looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away.
Lucas throws the left hand but Gracie avoids the punch easily.
Lucas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gracie avoids it really well and circles away.
Lucas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gracie's waist but Gracie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lucas off to one side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lucas throws an elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lucas's guard. Nice move by Gracie!

Gracie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lucas kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Matt Gracie has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Lucas is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.
Lucas tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lucas defends it easily.
Lucas wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lucas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gracie is looking to sinch up a triangle. Lucas throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gracie's body to avoid the submission. Gracie has instead reached around Lucas's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gracie arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

After the fight, Matt Gracie was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
