Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bret Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elkins comes to the cage accompanied by Care Bear Countdown. Hart has chosen Vertigo - U2 as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bret Hart!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elkins feints and then cracks Hart's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hart down.
Elkins pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hart dives in and grabs Elkins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Elkins pushes down on Hart's head and hops out.
Elkins finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hart blocks a head kick by Elkins.
Hart takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Hart looks to land a left hand but Elkins moved out of range nicely.
Hart thuds his right hand into Elkins's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hart fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Elkins manages to avoid it.
Hart closes the distance and clinches up with Elkins, looking for a takedown. Hart pushes Elkins against the cage but Elkins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Elkins on the wrong end of a nice hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hart looks to score with a jab to the body but Elkins is just out of range.
Hart throws a right hand that misses
and Elkins counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Elkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hart takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


It looks like Bret Hart has been cut.
Hart throws an overhand right that lands on Elkins's shoulder, as Elkins tries to avoid the shot.
Hart stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Elkins.

Hart takes a swing at Elkins's ribcage but misses.
Hart avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Elkins shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Hart throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bret Hart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Elkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed right hand from Hart misses the target.
Nice sprawl there from Elkins as Hart shoots in.
Dwight Elkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bret Hart.
Elkins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hart manages to avoid it.

Hart lands a really nice looking cross but Elkins seems unphased.

Hart misses with a hook. Elkins ducked under it nicely.
Hart throws a lazy uppercut
and Elkins counters with a low kick, right behind Hart 's knee.
Hart takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Elkins wants to land a leg kick but Hart is out of range.
Hart throws a jab but it's blocked by Elkins.
Hart misses with a low kick as Elkins jumps back.

Hart scores a takedown into full mount!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Elkins sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Hart has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Elkins wants to improve his position but Hart is controlling well.

Hart thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Elkins's head.

Elkins slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Elkins manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Elkins sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Hart tries to lock up and control but Elkins gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Hart keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Elkins is working for a guillotine from mount but Hart frees his head quite easily.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Elkins is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hart to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hart shrugs it off.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hart is trying to escape the mount.
Hart is squirming around, avoiding Elkins's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dwight Elkins will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Bret Hart's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hart throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Elkins sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Elkins's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hart connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Elkins scrambles back to his feet.
Elkins takes a jab right on the kisser.
Bret Hart seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hart misses with a wild body shot.
Hart misses with a straight left.
Hart throws out a leg kick but Elkins moves out of range and Hart only half commits.
Nice takedown defense from Hart. No joy for Elkins on that attempt.

Hart loads up on a big right hand but Elkins slips the punch.
Hart lands a glancing blow to the side of Elkins's head.
Hart ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hart connects with a solid leg kick.
Hart lands with a straight right. Elkins didn't see that one coming.
Elkins leaves Hart with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hart fails with a takedown attempt.

Hart closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Elkins quickly recovers to half guard.

Elkins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Elkins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hart controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hart content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Elkins has locked up a guillotine! Elkins's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hart is holding on here and Elkins must be using up a lot of energy. Hart has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Elkins gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Dwight Elkins!
