PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Crocodile Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guara Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dundee might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Beethoven's 5th. Guara Grove will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grove tries to clinch but Dundee moves out of range.

Dundee tries to keep at a distance but Grove has taken the fight into the clinch.
Grove lands a hook that snaps the head of Dundee backwards.

Grove breaks the clinch.
Grove throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Grove rushes Dundee and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dundee wants to take the fight to the mat but Grove manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Grove unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Grove is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Grove manages to break the clinch.
Grove lands a body shot.
Grove tries to close the distance and clinch but Dundee swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Grove tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dundee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dundee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Grove swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Grove lands with a slapping head kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dundee gets tackled into the cage by Grove. Grove maintains the clinch.
Grove pressing his opponent against the cage.
Grove unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Grove breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Grove throws a head kick that Dundee semi-blocks.
Grove misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Guara Grove seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Grove rushes Dundee and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dundee gets underhooks to prevent Grove's takedown attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grove manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Grove obliges.

Dundee is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Grove with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Grove can't get the takedown.
Grove lands an elbow just above Dundee 's eye.
Dundee goes for a takedown attempt but Grove pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Grove throws a front kick that sends Dundee stumbling back into the cage.

Dundee shoots in and gets a takedown into Grove's guard.
Dundee lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Dundee gets to his feet - Grove follows without any prompting.
Grove throws a nice head kick!
Grove plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Grove lands with a slapping head kick.
Grove fakes the leg kick and cracks Dundee in the body.
Dundee dives in and grabs Grove's left leg, looking for a takedown. Grove pushes down on Dundee's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Crocodile Dundee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dundee takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Grove tries to clinch but Dundee moves out of range.

Grove gets a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Grove drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Grove manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Grove looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Grove scores with a kick to the body.
Grove closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Dundee takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Grove plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Good leg kick by Grove there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Dundee takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Left hook, right uppercut from Grove.
Dundee tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Grove swivels and escapes.
A slapping body kick lands there for Grove.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Grove throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dundee.

Dundee is rocked!
Dundee will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Dundee walks straight into a right hand from Grove - that's dropped him! Grove jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Dundee from any more punishment! Dundee complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Guara Grove!
