Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phoenix Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Onizuka Stresemann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine comes to the cage accompanied by Liquid Tension Experiment - Acid Rain. Stresemann is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Takashi Sorimachi - Poison . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Onizuka Stresemann!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stresemann sprawls well. Stresemann wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Valentine gets slowly back to his feet.

Stresemann uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Valentine has time to react.


It looks like Phoenix Valentine has been cut.

Valentine feints and as Stresemann raises his hands in defense, Valentine changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Stresemann manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Valentine manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stresemann sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Valentine's guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Valentine is not content to let Stresemann control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Phoenix Valentine will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
