The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Colossus connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Cruz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Colossus moves to clinch but Cruz breaks away
and Cruz counters with a nice body shot.

Cruz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Colossus tries to throw a body punch but Cruz avoids it by throwing Colossus back against the cage.

Cruz wants to get back to striking at distance but Colossus won't allow it.

Colossus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Cruz paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Colossus throws an overhand right that lands on Cruz's shoulder, as Cruz tries to avoid the shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Colossus misses the target.
Cruz lands a big head kick that sends Colossus tumbling to the mat! Cruz takes a step backwards and waves Colossus back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cruz throws an uppercut from hell that sends Colossus clean off his feet! He's out cold! Cruz stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
