Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antero Rokka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Roach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rokka comes into the arena with Antero's Walkout blaring out of the sound system. Antero Rokka had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antero Rokka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Roach!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rokka uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Roach.
Rokka tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A thudding body kick lands there by Rokka!
Rokka moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rokka. Roach shrugs it off though.
Rokka throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Roach.


It looks like Frank Roach has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rokka tries to clinch there but Roach circles away.
Roach is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.


Roach is rocked!
Rokka dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rokka bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Roach's head.
Roach is still on wobbly legs! Can Rokka finish him?

Roach bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Roach seems to have recovered his senses.
Rokka can't do much from the bottom here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rokka avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Roach.
Roach has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Roach in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Roach trying to control the action but Rokka is working from the bottom.
Roach taking a break here but Rokka is having none of it and regains half guard.
Roach is trying to control. Rokka wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rokka is doing well to control the position and prevent Roach from advancing to side control.
Rokka is trying to maintain the position but Roach is very close to passing his half guard.
Roach looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rokka with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rokka is refusing to be controlled, as Roach sits in half guard.
Roach trying to mount his opponent but Rokka defends it.
Rokka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rokka tries to get out of the position.
Roach perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rokka keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Rokka keeping hold of Roach's head, controlling as best he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roach throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Roach trying to control from half guard but Rokka is working away.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Roach takes one to the chin there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roach throws a poor cross that misses
and Rokka counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Roach misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Rokka counters with a nice right hand that sends Roach toppling to the canvas! Roach scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Rokka finish him?!


That has opened up Frank Roach's cut even more.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A head kick by Rokka - that's a beauty! Roach is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Rokka can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Antero Rokka!
A relieved looking Antero Rokka thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
