Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Montferrand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Sevchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montferrand comes to the cage accompanied by Big Joe Mufferaw. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joseph Montferrand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Sevchenko!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sevchenko swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Sevchenko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Montferrand's guard.

Montferrand fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sevchenko avoids it really well and circles away.

Sevchenko closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Montferrand quickly recovers to half guard.

Sevchenko is looking to take a break and control but Montferrand is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sevchenko might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Montferrand kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Vlad Sevchenko hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Sevchenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sevchenko working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Montferrand is defending against the submission attempts here by Sevchenko.
Montferrand is staying active underneath Sevchenko, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sevchenko works his way into side control.
Montferrand wants to control but Sevchenko postures up.
Montferrand is not content to let Sevchenko control the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sevchenko throws a strike aimed at the side of Montferrand's head but Montferrand avoids it well.
Sevchenko looks up at the clock and then as Montferrand takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sevchenko smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vlad Sevchenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Sevchenko dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Montferrand has had enough and taps out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Vlad Sevchenko!
