Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathek Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Brown might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to James brown - Superbad. James Brown has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mathek Kingston!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown tries to land a body kick
and Kingston counters with a thumping low kick.

Kingston closes the distance and pushes Brown back into the cage.

Kingston breaks from the clinch.
Kingston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brown tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Kingston counters by clinching up.
Kingston has Brown pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brown manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Brown with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Mathek Kingston has been cut.

Brown escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brown stuffs the takedown attempt from Kingston. Kingston gets slowly back to his feet.
Brown tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Kingston counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Kingston has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kingston holds on and takes a little breather.
Kingston manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Brown is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Kingston has taken his back!

Kingston is persistently looking for the submission but Brown is defending it well.
Brown is trying to get back to his feet but Kingston has full control of the position and if anything, Brown has just worked his way into a worse spot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Brown wants to get up but he can't break Kingston's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Kingston is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Brown gets to his feet - Kingston follows without any prompting.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Brown will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

James Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Brown.
