Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Alvarez Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gray Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Banner might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Drowning Pool's Step Up. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gray Son!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Son scores with a head kick.
A shot to the liver by Banner. Beautiful body shot.

Banner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Banner stands up and beckons Son to his feet.
Son with a jab.
Banner connects with a single shot there.
Son checks a leg kick.
Banner shoots in but Son avoids the takedown attempt easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Son fails to land the takedown.
Son just misses with a punch to the body.
Banner checks a low kick from Son.
Banner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Son as he avoids it easily.
Son drops his hands momentarily and Banner takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Son attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Banner.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Alvarez Banner. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Son tries to sprawl but Banner drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Banner wants to pass the guard but Son is defending well.
Son wants to improve his position but Banner is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Son looks like he's trying to stand up.
Banner tries to pass to full mount but Son defends it.
Banner passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Son!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Banner misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Son in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

It looks like Gray Son has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Banner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Banner lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

That has opened up Gray Son's cut even more.
Son wants to control but Banner is having none of it.
Son is wriggling around trying to escape.
Banner unloading with bombs!

Banner lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Banner lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The cut above Gray Son's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Banner postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Son looks a forlorn figure.

Son is rocked!

Gray Son's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gray Son's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
