Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hatsu Hioki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tug Speedman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hioki comes to the cage accompanied by Heart of Asia. Tug Speedman is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hatsu Hioki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tug Speedman!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hioki throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hioki, as that shot connected.
Speedman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hioki.
Hioki moves out of range of the strikes.

Hioki clinches up with Speedman and pushes him back against the cage.

Hioki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Speedman misses the shot to the body.
Speedman lands a slapping body shot.
A big right from Speedman misses.
Hioki throws a nice looking combination but Speedman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hioki has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hioki there as he acknowledges the shot.

Hioki takes the fight into the clinch.
Speedman looking to slow down the pace here.
Hioki wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hioki wants to break the clinch but can't.

Hioki breaks the clinch.
Speedman avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hioki rushes Speedman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hioki working hard to break the clinch.
Hioki wants to break the clinch but can't.
Speedman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hioki is trying to force a seperation but Speedman has the dominant position.

Hioki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hioki drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Hioki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Hioki goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Speedman is on top in guard.
Speedman wants to stand and escape but instead Hioki has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Speedman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Speedman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Speedman tries to control but Hioki wriggling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Speedman is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hioki is desperately trying to improve his position but Speedman has a good base and remains in mount.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tug Speedman wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hioki throws a body punch but Speedman moves out of range.
Speedman misses the jab.
Hioki thuds his right hand into Speedman's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hatsu Hioki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Speedman takes a swing at Hioki's ribcage but misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hioki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A punch combination from Hioki misses.
Hioki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A decent looking cross lands there for Speedman.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tug Speedman will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hioki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Speedman throws a body punch but Hioki moves out of range.
Speedman jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Speedman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hioki sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hioki takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hioki avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hioki misses the shot to the body.
Hioki misses with a low kick as Speedman jumps back.
Speedman throws a body punch but Hioki moves out of range.
Hioki scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Tug Speedman has been cut.
Speedman looks to score with a jab to the body but Hioki is just out of range.
Hioki throws out a loose jab but Speedman uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nice shot by Speedman.
A looping hook to the body misses from Speedman. Hioki does a little dance to reset his feet.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Speedman takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Speedman throws a lazy right hand but Hioki sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Hioki closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Speedman tries to get to full guard but Hioki has control of the leg.
Hioki wants to pass to mount but Speedman is defending the position.

Speedman is defending against the submission attempts here by Hioki.

Hioki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Speedman is just riding it out for now. Hioki eventually gives up the hold.

Hioki is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Speedman has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hioki is looking for a kimura but Speedman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hioki to get the leverage.

Hioki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Speedman is just riding it out for now. Hioki eventually gives up the hold.
Speedman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hioki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hioki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Speedman is not content to let Hioki control the position.
Speedman wants to control but Hioki is keeping busy.
Hioki trying to control the action but Speedman is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Speedman is pressing down on Hioki's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hioki has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Speedman is proving hard to escape from.

Hioki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hioki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hioki passes Speedman's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Hioki is trying to work for a kimura but Speedman is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hioki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Speedman is just riding it out for now. Hioki eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hatsu Hioki dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Tug Speedman's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Speedman just misses with a punch to the body.
Hioki is looking to wear down Speedman with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Speedman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Hioki gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Speedman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hioki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Speedman is fending him off so far but Hioki persists. Nope, Speedman circles away and we're back to standing.
Hioki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hioki shoots for a double leg takedown but Speedman sprawls well. He's pushed Hioki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Speedman misses with a looping right.
Speedman takes a swing at Hioki's ribcage but misses.
Speedman thows a left - swing and a miss!
Speedman scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Speedman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hioki moves away.
Speedman scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Speedman on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hioki takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hioki gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Speedman getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


Hioki is rocked!
Speedman lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Hioki falls backwards - clearly groggy! Speedman dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tug Speedman!
Tug Speedman decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
