Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marc De Ertu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Gates Silverback (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silverback has chosen 2nd Sucks as his entrance music. Marc De Ertu has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marc De Ertu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tim Gates Silverback!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Ertu slips a jab and a cross from Silverback.
De Ertu doesn't manage to clinch there - Silverback circles away.
De Ertu fails in his attempt to clinch.
De Ertu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
De Ertu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silverback tries to avoid it but De Ertu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silverback to the ground. Silverback escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A slow jab from Silverback misses its intended target.
Silverback throws a jab when De Ertu was well out of range.

Silverback throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
De Ertu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

De Ertu moves into range and clinches up with Silverback.
Silverback has De Ertu pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. De Ertu manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Silverback has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics De Ertu uses from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

De Ertu wants to control from the top but Silverback keeps moving.
De Ertu in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

We're going to have a standup here because Marc De Ertu wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

De Ertu closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Silverback is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but De Ertu is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silverback can do anything to dispel that myth.
De Ertu scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Silverback is trying desperately to improve position.

De Ertu can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silverback is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silverback is wriggling around trying to escape.

Silverback tries to improve his position but instead De Ertu has taken his back!

De Ertu is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Silverback has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but De Ertu has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Silverback taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. De Ertu doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Marc De Ertu!
A very excited looking Marc De Ertu rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
