Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dupree Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage has chosen Bon Jovi - It's my life as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens throws a lazy uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Owens stuffs the takedown.

Savage bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Savage is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Owens knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Savage is trying to get an arm triangle but Owens is defending well.
Savage in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Savage swings around for an armbar but Owens sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Savage's guard.
Owens would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Owens passes into half guard.

Owens decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Savage takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Jackson Savage has been cut.
Savage throws a head kick that Owens semi-blocks.

It looks like Dupree Owens has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Owens misses with a few strikes there.
No luck for Savage with that takedown attempt.
Savage shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dupree Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Savage.

Savage looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savage stops Owens from getting back to his feet.

Savage is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Savage is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Owens has managed to free his arm - good work.

Savage is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Owens defends it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Owens pushes Savage off looking to stand but Savage dives back in and keeps control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Savage seems to be looking for submissions.

Savage maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Owens could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Savage has cracked it and Owens is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Savage!

A determined Jackson Savage didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
