Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chad Griggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McClane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McClane has chosen Refuse/Resist as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chad Griggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John McClane!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McClane throws a jab when Griggs was well out of range.

Griggs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Griggs lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griggs connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused McClane some visible discomfort.
Griggs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McClane gets back to half guard.
Griggs throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing McClane to regain full guard.
Griggs wants to pass the guard but McClane is keeping the position.

McClane seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Griggs does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Griggs is concentrating on defense, preventing McClane from advancing position.

McClane bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Griggs's head backwards.

McClane lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Griggs tries for a takedown but McClane sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and McClane counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Griggs shoots for a double leg takedown but McClane sprawls well. He's pushed Griggs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McClane throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Chad Griggs has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McClane is looking to clinch.

McClane might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Griggs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McClane's waist but McClane gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griggs off to one side.
Griggs seems to have got his legs back now.
Griggs tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McClane swivels and escapes.

McClane is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Griggs.
McClane lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

McClane drops Griggs with a left and a right! Oh, Griggs is hurt - McClane dives into side control looking to finish!

Griggs tries to score a power double leg takedown but McClane sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Griggs somewhat.
