Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Boss King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fatu is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Umaga. Eddie Fatu acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, The Boss King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eddie Fatu!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fatu lands a nice hook to King's body. King takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
King shoots in for a takedown but Fatu shows good takedown defense.
Fatu closes the distance and clinches up with King, looking for a takedown. Fatu pushes King against the cage but King circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fatu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fatu crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from King - the referee stops the clock and Fatu gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says King. Fatu manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

and Fatu counters with a shoot takedown. King fights it but they end up in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fatu postures up in King's guard and throws a big left but King blocks it.
Fatu distracts King with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Fatu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fatu has gone for a leg lock! King slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fatu's guard.
Fatu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. King manages to get himself to full guard.

King is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fatu makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fatu in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Fatu thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
King tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Fatu decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
King tries for a takedown but Fatu circles away easily

and Fatu counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Boss King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King is breathing heavily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fatu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fatu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! King's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



King gets in close and instigates a clinch.
King is looking to break free of the clinch but Fatu has double underhooks.
King fails to pull the fight into his guard.

King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
King shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Fatu counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Fatu is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! King is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! King has escaped and now he's on top!

King stands up from Fatu's guard - King perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's one minute gone in the round.

King gets caught napping as Fatu dives in and scores a takedown. King manages to retain guard.
Fatu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Fatu postures up in King's guard and throws a big left but King blocks it.

King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fatu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Eddie Fatu has got the better of the ground game so far.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fatu trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

King has momentary wrist control but Fatu slips an elbow through the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fatu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

King has his foot on Fatu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fatu works his way back into a safe position though.

King can't keep his opponent in guard - Fatu advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Fatu lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.


King is rocked!
Fatu frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Oh King is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fatu lands a big elbow - King is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and King is forced to tap out!
