The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Compton stuffs the takedown.

Compton darts in and clinches Shinichi up against the cage.
Compton tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Shinichi is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Compton pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Shinichi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Compton fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Compton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Shinichi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Compton fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Shinichi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Compton pinned against the cage. Compton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Compton jabs Shinichi right on the nose. Shinichi blinks but takes it well.
Colt Compton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Compton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shinichi moves away.

Shinichi tries for a takedown but Compton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Compton throws a right and a left that both miss.
Compton lands a right hook to the body.

Compton leaves Shinichi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Shinichi takes one to the chin there.
Compton scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Shinichi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Compton sprawls well. Compton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shinichi gets slowly back to his feet.

Shinichi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

A decent looking cross lands there for Compton.
Compton fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shinichi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jab, jab by Compton - just one landing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shinichi shoots in for a takedown but Compton shows good takedown defense.
Compton is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Compton lands with a big left! Shinichi is wobbled badly! Compton comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Shinichi to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
