The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendricks throws a leg kick but Chekhemani sees it coming and moves out of range.
Hendricks lands a leg kick that knocks Chekhemani off balance momentarily.
Chekhemani missing with a left hand there. Hendricks was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hendricks slips a jab and a cross from Chekhemani.
Chekhemani fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hendricks.
Chekhemani throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Chekhemani connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Hendricks throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hendricks moves out of range of the strikes.
Hendricks keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Chekhemani throws a sloppy head kick
and Hendricks counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Hendricks fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chekhemani, pushing him back against the cage.

Chekhemani escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Chekhemani motions for Hendricks to come forward. Chekhemani throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hendricks scores with a punch to the head.

Chekhemani gets a clinch.
Chekhemani blocks an elbow strike from Hendricks.
Chekhemani lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Hendricks or not.
Hendricks misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Chekhemani breaks from the clinch.
Nawal Chekhemani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hendricks avoids the head kick by Chekhemani.
Chekhemani gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hendricks.
Chekhemani swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hendricks jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A jab from Hendricks does it's job there.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hendricks, as that shot connected.
Hendricks bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Chekhemani's head backwards.
Chekhemani tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hendricks was well out of range. Poor timing from Chekhemani.
Chekhemani uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hendricks.
Chekhemani throws the kick towards the body but Hendricks avoids it.

Hendricks throws a leg kick which misses Chekhemani's front leg but catches the back leg as Chekhemani tries to avoid it.
Chekhemani jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hendricks tries to bum rush Chekhemani with a series of wild strikes but Chekhemani uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Chekhemani misses with a body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hendricks gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Chekhemani avoids a wild elbow strike from Hendricks.
Hendricks creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Hendricks throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Hendricks lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Nawal Chekhemani has been cut.
Chekhemani avoids the elbow strike from Hendricks, against the cage.
Chekhemani blocks a body shot from Hendricks.
Chekhemani wants to take the fight to the mat but Hendricks manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Hendricks lands with a nice combination. Chekhemani backs away looking to recover.

and Hendricks counters with a slapping leg kick.
Hendricks throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Chekhemani's head.
Hendricks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Chekhemani throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hendricks fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Chekhemani has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A punch combination from Chekhemani misses.
Hendricks connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A jab from Hendricks misses.
Hendricks throws a head kick that half lands.
Chekhemani avoids the head kick by Hendricks.
Hendricks dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Chekhemani. That did some damage!
Hendricks dips to his left and cracks Chekhemani with an uppercut!
Chekhemani ducks under a wild hook from Hendricks.
Chekhemani is looking to clinch but Hendricks is avoiding it.
Hendricks is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Chekhemani misses with a two punch combination.
Chekhemani moves out of range of the strikes.
Hendricks buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Chekhemani lands with a nice body punch.

Chekhemani lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hendricks tries to clinch up but Chekhemani circles away and keeps his distance.
Hendricks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chekhemani.
Hendricks misses with a hook.
Chekhemani throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Chekhemani fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A big right from Hendricks misses.
Hendricks tries to clinch but Chekhemani moves out of range.
Hendricks does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Chekhemani swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hendricks.
Chekhemani swings for the body but Hendricks moves out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Chekhemani checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Hendricks steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chekhemani.
A looping hook to the body misses from Chekhemani. Hendricks does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tony Hendricks will probably get the nod.
