Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hilio Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henry Six!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie moves out of range of the body kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Six is defended easily by Gracie.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Six is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gracie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Six is looking to improve his position.
Gracie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Gracie thows a huge punch but Six dodges it nicely.
Six is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Six trying to hold on to Gracie's head to control him but Gracie postures up.
Gracie not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Six is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Six is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Six is trying is best to control the position here.

Gracie wants to pass the guard but Six is defending well.
Gracie is keen to just control but Six is a slippery customer.
Six is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Six is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.

Gracie is keen to just control but Six is a slippery customer.
Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gracie wants to pass to mount but Six is defending the position.
Gracie sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Six defending well though.
Six is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Six manages to get to full guard.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Six swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gracie connects with a couple of short punches.

Six is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Six manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.

Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Six's guard.
Six is adopting a defensive guard.

Six keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
Six wants to hit a switch here but Gracie passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Six there!
Gracie looking to finish Six with some ground and pound. This is bad for Six!
Six tries to hold on but Gracie pushes him away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gracie is landing with some decent strikes but Six is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Six is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie looking to ground and pound but Six is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hilio Gracie dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Gracie defending well as Six loads up on a big left hand.
Six misses with a left hand
and Gracie counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Six sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
Six tried to score with a low kick but Gracie checks it.
Hilio Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt
and Six counters with a series of strikes. Gracie will be more careful next time no doubt.
Six slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hilio Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Six looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away.
A combination from Gracie does no damage.
Six tries to work over Gracie's front leg with a kick but Gracie checks it.
Gracie has a takedown stuffed.
Sloppy strikes from Six. Those never looked like landing.
Six throws a low kick but Gracie avoids it.

Gracie shoots in but no luck this time.

Gracie shoots in and bounces Six off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Six looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Six is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Six pulls Gracie in close to his closed guard and prevents Gracie from doing any damage or advancing position.
Six bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard.
Gracie throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Six controlling him for the moment.

Six is in close to Gracie's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet.
Hilio Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gracie controls Six momentarily but Six frees himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Six tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.
Six trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Six missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Six must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Six manages to get himself to full guard.
Six can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gracie landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Gracie is looking to advance position but Six won't allow it.
Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gracie missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Gracie has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Six defend it? Gracie steps over the head and cranks it - Six is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gracie!
