Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Weiner!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse !
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shouse on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Shouse throws a right and a left that both miss.
Weiner stuns Shouse with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Shouse fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Weiner manages to avoid it.

Shouse instigates a clinch.

Shouse breaks the clinch.
Shouse tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Shouse closes the distance and clinches.
Shouse keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Weiner's efforts to push away.
Weiner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Weiner gets underhooks to prevent Shouse 's takedown attempt.

Shouse successfully pulls guard.
Shouse is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Weiner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shouse on the ground.

Shouse lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Weiner!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Shouse cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Shouse is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Weiner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Weiner is trying to escape the mount.

Weiner wants to get back to his feet.

Shouse has hold of Weiner's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Weiner manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Weiner is desperately trying to improve his position but Shouse has a good base and remains in mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shouse can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Weiner is looking to escape.
You get the feeling that Weiner really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Shouse has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shouse wants to control the pace but Weiner is squirming around nicely.

Weiner looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Weiner is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Weiner tries to escape but Shouse has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Shouse lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Weiner defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Shouse 's arms.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shouse controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joshua Shouse dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Weiner misses with a hook.
Weiner moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Shouse shoots in looking for a takedown but Weiner manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shouse 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jab, jab by Weiner - just one landing.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Shouse . He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Weiner lands a nice hook to Shouse 's body. Shouse takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Weiner scores with a nice right hand.
Shouse looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Weiner is fending him off so far but Shouse persists. Nope, Weiner circles away and we're back to standing.
Shouse throws a head kick but Weiner moves out of range.
Shouse is trying hard to land a takedown here. Weiner sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Carlos Weiner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua Shouse .
Shouse tries to clinch there but Weiner circles away.
Weiner scores with the left hand. Shouse knows he should have avoided that one.
Shouse throws a sloppy head kick and Weiner moves out of range easily.

Shouse is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Weiner lands with a hook. Shouse tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Shouse is still on wobbly legs! Can Weiner finish him?
Shouse drops his hands momentarily and Weiner takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Weiner cracks Shouse on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Shouse falls backwards against the cage. Weiner follows up with more strikes that drop Shouse to his knees. Weiner keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Shouse ! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Weiner!

Our winner, Carlos Weiner, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
