The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
August circles away from the clinch attempt
and August counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
August scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Smith tries to clinch
and August counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Smith wants to clinch but August slips to the side

It looks like Robert Smith has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
August rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smith tries to clinch but August moves away
and August counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Smith connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between August's hands.

Smith has closed the distance and engaged August in a clinch.
August effectively controlling the action here.
August is pressed up against the cage. Smith has hold of a leg and is looking to drag August down to the mat. August avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and August counters with a stiff right hand.
August looks to land a combination. Smith sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
August swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
Smith slips under a jab.
Smith closes the distance but August moves to the side
and August counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Smith tries to clinch but fails miserably
and August counters with a nice body shot.
August lands a head kick. Smith smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Robert Smith's cut is getting worse.

Smith takes a shot to the body in his stride.
August thuds his right hand into Smith's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
August keeps Smith at a distance using the push kick.
August throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Smith colapses and takes a barrage of punches from August as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Smith is left battered and dazed whilst August and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oktawian August!
