Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Niklaus Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Kato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenji Kato is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Niklaus Michaels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kenji Kato!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kato misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kato scores with a decent looking hook.
Kato throws a sloppy head kick and Michaels moves out of range easily.
Kato misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Michaels.

A solid leg kick lands there for Kato.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Michaels crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kato - the referee stops the clock and Michaels gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kato. Michaels manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Michaels takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kato fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Michaels looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Michaels walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Kenji Kato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kenji Kato showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Michaels looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Michaels walks straight into a big right, left combination from Kato and drops to the floor! Oh, he's out cold! He's out cold! Wow, that finish was brutal! Congratulations to Kato as he moves his way up the rankings!
