The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Walters.
Horrible takedown by Walters or perhaps it was just good defense by Yamamoto which made him look bad.
Yamamoto is trying hard to land a takedown here. Walters sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Walters shoots in for a double leg but Yamamoto sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnathan Walters. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yamamoto fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Walters sprawls well initially but Yamamoto persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Yamamoto is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Walters works his way to full guard. Good work.

Yamamoto is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Walters is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Walters has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walters wants to control from the top but Yamamoto keeps moving.
Walters could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Yamamoto tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Yamamoto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Walters!

Yamamoto wants to finish this one by submission but Walters is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Yamamoto.

Yamamoto swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Walters is now in Yamamoto's guard. A big mistake from Yamamoto there, giving up the dominant position!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yamamoto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Walters stands and throws Yamamoto's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Walters is looking to take a break and control but Yamamoto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Walters has hold of Yamamoto's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Yamamoto seems comfortable defending it but Walters has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Yamamoto is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Yamamoto is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Walters couldn't care less - he's delighted!
