Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lincoln Bashor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Darude - Sandstorm . Carlos Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lincoln Bashor!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bashor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bashor shoots in but no luck this time.
Carlos Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lincoln Bashor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Bashor, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Bashor against the cage but Bashor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bashor moves away.

Bashor shoots and misses

so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Silva wants to control from the top but Bashor keeps moving.
Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bashor works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bashor looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Silva puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Silva wants to pass to mount but Bashor is defending the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bashor is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bashor has escaped and now he's on top!
Bashor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bashor controls the pace.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bashor feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Bashor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bashor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bashor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bashor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Silva regains half guard there - taking advantage of Bashor's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bashor lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lincoln Bashor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bashor pinned against the cage. Bashor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Silva is just content to waste time from the top position. Bashor takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva won't allow Bashor to sweep him here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Carlos Silva showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Carlos Silva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
