Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smido avoids the body shot from Barksdale.
Barksdale misses with a two punch combination.
Smido thows a body shot but no joy.
Smido lands a really nice looking cross but Barksdale seems unphased.
Barksdale drops his hands momentarily and Smido takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Barksdale throws a front kick aimed at Smido's knee but Smido avoids it well.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Barksdale checks a leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Smido.

Smido had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barksdale defends it easily.
Smido is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Smido has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barksdale can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Smido working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barksdale doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barksdale manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Barksdale would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smido is pulling down on Barksdale's head. It's preventing any offense from Barksdale, at least for the moment.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barksdale wants to get up but he can't break Smido's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Barksdale tries to close the distance and clinch but Smido swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Smido fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Barksdale sprawls well initially but Smido persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
