PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Steve Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Clendennon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clendennon comes into a darkened arena with his song building. LoFidelity All-Stars - Battleflag kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson shoots in for a takedown but Clendennon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Clendennon lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Stevenson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Stevenson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Clendennon manages to avoid it.
Stevenson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clendennon but Clendennon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Clendennon swings for the body but Stevenson moves out of range.
Stevenson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stevenson.

Clendennon lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Clendennon tests Stevenson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Clendennon connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stevenson. Stevenson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Clendennon comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd cheers as Clendennon lands an impressive looking overhand right. Stevenson doesn't seem phased though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stevenson shoots in looking for a takedown but Clendennon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stevenson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Stevenson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Clendennon scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Clendennon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Stevenson's head backwards.

It looks like Steve Stevenson has been cut.
Stevenson takes a knee to the side of the body.
Stevenson is breathing heavily.
Clendennon comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Clendennon tries to land a knee to the head but Stevenson blocks with his arms.

Clendennon is struggling to control the position.
Clendennon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Stevenson's efforts to push away.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Stevenson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
