Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taj al Din (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Art Vandalay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). al Din comes to the cage accompanied by قنب هندي. Art Vandalay acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Taj al Din!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Art Vandalay!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Vandalay crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from al Din - the referee stops the clock and Vandalay gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says al Din. Vandalay manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
al Din checks a leg kick.
Vandalay lands a nice hook to al Din's body. al Din takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
al Din throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The crowd cheers as Vandalay lands an impressive looking overhand right. al Din doesn't seem phased though.
al Din steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vandalay.

No joy there for Vandalay, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vandalay moves out of range of the body kick from al Din.
Vandalay throws a solid leg kick but al Din takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Vandalay.
Vandalay on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by al Din. al Din obviously looking to wear him down.

al Din takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
al Din throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Vandalay on the side of the head.
Art Vandalay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

al Din lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

al Din has closed the distance and engaged Vandalay in a clinch.

al Din pulls guard effortlessly.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
al Din being controlled here, momentarily.

al Din has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vandalay can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

al Din had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vandalay defends it easily.
al Din not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

al Din is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Vandalay wants to control from the top but al Din keeps moving.

al Din escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vandalay gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

al Din has an active guard here but Vandalay has managed to pass into half guard.

al Din slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Art Vandalay.
al Din lands with a shot to the body.
al Din thows a body shot but no joy.
Vandalay lets loose with a powerful body kick. al Din will feel that in the morning.

Vandalay scores with a nice right hand.
Vandalay's corner calls for a 1-2. Vandalay obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
al Din ducks right into an uppercut from Vandalay.
Vandalay takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
al Din misses with a wild body shot.
Vandalay scores with the left hand. al Din knows he should have avoided that one.
Vandalay lands a leg kick that knocks al Din off balance momentarily.
al Din lands with an uppercut that bounces Vandalay off the cage and back into range.
The crowd cheers as al Din lands an impressive looking overhand right. Vandalay doesn't seem phased though.
Vandalay fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt al Din.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
al Din stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Vandalay.
Vandalay throws a wild body kick that al Din sees coming a mile off.
Vandalay lands a nice leg kick that just misses al Din's sensitive parts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Taj al Din will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

A solid leg kick lands there for Vandalay.

and al Din counters with a right hand to the body.
Vandalay connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vandalay has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from al Din finds it's way round the side to connect with Vandalay's head.
al Din throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vandalay.
al Din tries to clinch up.
Vandalay throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
al Din takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Vandalay throws a low kick but al Din avoids it.
Vandalay is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by al Din.

al Din on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Vandalay. Vandalay obviously looking to wear him down.

Vandalay moves into range and clinches up with al Din.
Vandalay throws an elbow but it misses.
Vandalay throws an elbow that misses.
al Din blocking some punches.
Vandalay scores with a shoulder strike.
al Din is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vandalay to keep the fight standing.
A head punch blocked on the inside by al Din.
Vandalay tries to break the clinch but al Din is controlling the position.
Vandalay prevents al Din from breaking the clinch.
al Din blocks the elbow strike.
Vandalay has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Vandalay lands a nice uppercut.

al Din tries to throw a body punch but Vandalay avoids it by throwing al Din back against the cage.

al Din wants the takedown. Vandalay is fighting it off but al Din persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Vandalay's guard against the cage.

al Din wants to control from the top but Vandalay keeps moving.

al Din is really struggling to control Vandalay but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Taj al Din just wasn't active enough.
Vandalay smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Art Vandalay seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Vandalay takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

al Din doesn't manage to clinch there - Vandalay circles away.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Vandalay!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vandalay is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
al Din blocks an elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Taj al Din will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

al Din is looking to slow Vandalay down with leg kicks.
A left lands for Vandalay.
Vandalay gets off balance looking for a body kick
and al Din counters with a nice low kick that buckles Vandalay's knee momentarily.
al Din thows a body kick. Vandalay tries to catch it but that hurt him.
al Din chopping away at his opponent's legs.
al Din lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Vandalay fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with al Din, pushing him back against the cage.
Vandalay has a couple of punches blocked by al Din.

al Din has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Vandalay regains guard immediately.
Vandalay keeping moving, preventing al Din from controlling successfully.
Vandalay takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
al Din looking to sit in guard and control but Vandalay gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Taj al Din overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Vandalay got a little sloppy there for a moment and al Din has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vandalay has managed to get both his arms back between al Din's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
al Din not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Vandalay slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Vandalay wants to control from the top but al Din keeps moving.

al Din is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

al Din has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vandalay can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

al Din is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vandalay is aware though and is defending well.

al Din working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vandalay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vandalay manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

al Din seems keen to control Vandalay's posture.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Vandalay is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but al Din has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Vandalay is looking to defend but al Din has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Vandalay! al Din pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Vandalay taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Taj al Din!
