PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pribivam Nared (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcel Dogg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pribivam Nared!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcel Dogg!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dogg throws a head kick that misses.
Dogg shoots in looking for a takedown. Nared tries to sprawl out of it but Dogg keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nared manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dogg.
Dogg displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nared.

Nared gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Nared's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nared looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dogg is fending him off so far but Nared persists. Nope, Dogg circles away and we're back to standing.
Dogg moves to clinch but Nared breaks away
and Nared counters with an outside leg kick.
Nared lands with a slapping head kick.
Dogg should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Dogg keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Nared counters with a leg kick.

Dogg wants to clinch but Nared slips to the side
and Nared counters with a stiff right hand.
A slapping leg kick lands for Dogg.
Dogg doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dogg misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nared.

Nared moves into the clinch.
Nared displaying some good clinch control by pressing Dogg up against the cage.
Nared utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Nared scores with a shoulder strike.

Dogg jumps guard but Nared turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Nared breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dogg tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nared swivels and escapes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dogg takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Dogg closes the distance and clinches up with Nared, looking for a takedown. Dogg pushes Nared against the cage but Nared circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Nared looks for a takedown but Dogg sprawls well.

Nared darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Nared is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dogg sees it coming and defends easily.
Nared seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Nared is looking to advance position but Dogg won't allow it.
Nared missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Dogg is looking for a sweep. Nared is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Nared stands up and beckons Dogg to join him on the feet.

Nared gets a clinch.

Nared's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nared takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Dogg tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Nared moves into the clinch.
Nared can't get the takedown.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nared breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Marcel Dogg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nared shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dogg tries to clinch up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pribivam Nared dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dogg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nared paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nared moves into the clinch.
Dogg wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Nared jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dogg walks away with a smile on his face. Nared gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nared fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dogg stuffs the takedown attempt from Nared. Nared gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pribivam Nared. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nared tries to clinch but Dogg moves out of range.
Dogg fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dogg moves in looking to clinch but Nared pushes him off.
Dogg wants to clinch up but Nared keeps it at a distance.
Dogg shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nared as he avoids it easily.
A slapping body kick lands there for Nared.
Dogg fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Nared is out of range.

and Nared counters by moving into the clinch.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Nared tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dogg just stands there and leans against the cage.
Dogg jumps guard but Nared stands there with Dogg around his waist. Dogg gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nared has hold of one of Dogg's legs. Dogg is fighting the takedown attempt but Nared gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Dogg is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Nared postures up in Dogg's guard and throws a big left but Dogg blocks it.
Nared seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Dogg doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Dogg drops down looking for an ankle pick but Nared pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nared looks for a takedown but Dogg sprawls well.

Nared instigates a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Nared pulls guard effortlessly.
Dogg throwing strikes from guard but Nared blocks nicely.
Nared tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dogg wants to control from the top but Nared keeps moving.

Nared is looking for a triangle but Dogg pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Nared shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dogg defends it nicely.

Nared is pulling down on Dogg's head to control his posture.
Nared is looking to stand up but Dogg isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Pribivam Nared wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Dogg shoots for a takedown but Nared saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Nared connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Dogg lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nared circles away quickly and effectively.
Dogg tries to clinch but Nared moves out of range.
Dogg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nared checks a low kick from Dogg.
Dogg fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nared avoids it really well and circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nared.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Nared closes the distance and pushes Dogg back into the cage.
Nared connects with a knee to the head.
Nared lands a good knee to the midsection. Dogg won't want to take too many of those.
Dogg changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nared fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Pribivam Nared has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcel Dogg.

Dogg throws a low kick but it's checked well by Nared.
Nared dives in and grabs Dogg's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dogg pushes down on Nared's head and hops out.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nared keeps the fight on the outside.
Marcel Dogg has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pribivam Nared is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Dogg throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

And that's the end of the fight!
Pribivam Nared showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Nared has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
