The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanderbeet pulls out of a head kick attempt.
O Reily throws out a leg kick but Vanderbeet moves out of range and O Reily only half commits.
O Reily fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A chopping leg kick lands by Vanderbeet.
Vanderbeet tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but O Reily swivels and escapes.
No joy there for O Reily, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vanderbeet fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

O Reily is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
O Reily is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
