PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Pelaez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Woo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pelaez comes to the cage accompanied by Never gonna give you up-Rick Astley. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Pelaez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Woo!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelaez tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Woo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Woo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Woo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Woo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pelaez's head.

Pelaez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Woo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Woo connects with a nice short shot to Pelaez's temple.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Woo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Pelaez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Woo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Pelaez.

He's trying desperately to grab hold of Woo around the waist but Woo pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Woo is the winner by TKO! Woo jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
