Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Will Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuire has chosen Johnny Cash sings The Battle Hymn Of The Republic as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams misses with a double jab
and McGuire counters with a left to the body.

Williams throws a hook to the side of McGuire's head but McGuire sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

McGuire working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Williams got a little sloppy there for a moment and McGuire has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Williams has managed to get both his arms back between McGuire's legs - danger averted.
Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Williams is working for an americana but McGuire has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Williams was thinking about the submission.

Williams postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McGuire is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Williams, into his guard.

Williams takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Williams sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
The fighters circle momentarily. McGuire darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Williams takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Mike McGuire is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Mike McGuire seems to be getting the better of the standup.

McGuire fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Williams has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
McGuire lands a right hook to the body.
McGuire thumps Williams with a low kick.

McGuire scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Williams doesn't seem bothered though.

McGuire feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Williams's calf.
