PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jan Kowalsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kowalsky kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is face fisted. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jan Kowalsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Martin Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn avoids the body shot from Kowalsky.

Gunn closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kowalsky wants to control but Gunn postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Jan Kowalsky wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gunn cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's time! Kowalsky's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Gunn shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kowalsky is holding on to half guard well.
Gunn uses his free foot to push down on Kowalsky's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kowalsky.
Kowalsky is looking to improve his position but Gunn isn't that keen on the idea.
Kowalsky is bucking up trying to escape but Gunn cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The referee warns Kowalsky that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

I would just about give that final round to Martin Gunn.
Well Gunn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
