With a record of 7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul White!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but White moves away.
White moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Guy closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

White shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Guy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Guy is controlling White's posture.
Guy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

White drops back looking for a leg! Guy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Guy manages to kick White off! White jumps back into Guy's guard.
White passes Guy's left leg - he's now in half guard.

White misses with a head shot. Guy uses the momentum to regain guard.
White trying to control the position from guard on top but Guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
White with a flurry of punches that miss.
White throws a big elbow that misses.

White engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

White pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Guy is keeping the position for now.
Guy keeping moving, preventing White from controlling successfully.

Paul White has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Guy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice jab there from Guy.
White throws a looping overhand right but Guy ducks down to avoid it.
White fails with a takedown attempt.
White will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Buddy Guy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

White throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Guy.
Guy fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches White on the side of the head.
White shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Guy as he jumps to the side.
White throws a series of punches but Guy avoids them all with ease.

White tries to bum rush Guy with a series of wild strikes but Guy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Paul White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A punch lands to the side of Guy 's head but he takes it in his stride.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
White bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Guy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Guy misses with a hook. White ducked under it nicely.
Guy keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

White tries a head kick but it misses.
White takes a swing at Guy's ribcage but misses.
White throws out a leg kick but Guy moves out of range and White only half commits.
Guy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
White fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Guy avoids it really well and circles away.

White looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
White throws a sloppy head kick and Guy moves out of range easily.
Guy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Guy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from White.
Guy moves forwards but White connects with a nice, crisp jab.
White misses with a hook
and Guy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like Paul White has been cut.
White uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Guy.

White wants to clinch
and Guy counters with a stiff right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
White takes a swing at Guy's ribcage but misses.
Guy slips a jab and a cross from White.
Guy leaves White with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
White closes this distance looking for a takedown but Guy circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guy moves out of range of the strikes.
White looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
White will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oooooh!!! Guy has knocked White down with a huge combo! Guy steps away and waves a wobbly White back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Guy connects with a stiff jab that staggers White - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Buddy Guy!
Buddy Guy retains his heavyweight title!
After winning the bout, Buddy Guy thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
