Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Felix Basilan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimble Cho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Felix Basilan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kimble Cho!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Basilan lands with a nice combination. Cho backs away looking to recover.
Basilan throws a head kick but Cho moves out of range.
Cho blocks a low kick nicely.
Basilan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Cho is rocked!
Basilan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cho stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Basilan misses with a straight right.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Basilan gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Cho counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Basilan cracks the inside of Cho's front leg.
Cho scores with a hook to the body. Basilan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A bone on bone clash there as Cho blocks the leg kick.
Basilan misses with a kick to the body.
Basilan is looking to clinch.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cho crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Basilan - the referee stops the clock and Cho gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Basilan. Cho manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Basilan moves out of range of the strikes.
Cho misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Basilan connects with an inside leg kick.
Cho sizes up Basilan with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Basilan throws a head kick that misses
and Cho counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Basilan shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Basilan throws a sloppy head kick
and Cho counters with a stiff right hand.
Basilan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cho stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Basilan.
Cho lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Basilan circles away quickly and effectively.
A jab from Cho misses.
Basilan lets loose with a powerful body kick. Cho will feel that in the morning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cho takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The fighters circle momentarily. Basilan darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Cho is still on wobbly legs! Can Basilan finish him?
Cho takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Cho looks winded!
Basilan throws a pinpoint strike between Cho's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Cho crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Basilan scores a great knockout victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Felix Basilan!
