The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evangelisti misses with a body shot.
Evangelisti ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Yamada throws a nice looking combination but Evangelisti bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Evangelisti throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Yamada walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Evangelisti misses with a hook. Yamada ducked under it nicely.
Yamada moves forwards but Evangelisti connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Evangelisti throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Yamada on the side of the head.
Evangelisti cracks a nice hook into Yamada's ribs.

Yamada lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evangelisti circles away quickly and effectively.
Yamada gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Evangelisti.
A nice leg kick lands there from Evangelisti.

Dante Evangelisti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Evangelisti catches Yamada with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Evangelisti cracks Yamada with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Yamada looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Evangelisti finish him?

Yamada's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Evangelisti swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Evangelisti lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Evangelisti just misses with a punch to the body.
Yamada throws a wild hook but Evangelisti just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Yamada gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Evangelisti raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dante Evangelisti!
Dante Evangelisti was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
