Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Walt Whitman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pwnasaurus Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rex has chosen The Forest as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Walt Whitman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pwnasaurus Rex!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rex.
Rex avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Rex steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Whitman.
Rex throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Whitman's waist but Whitman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rex off to one side.
Whitman moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Whitman gets tackled into the cage by Rex. Rex maintains the clinch.
Rex can't get the takedown.
A frustrated look appears on Rex's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Rex is trying to drag Whitman to the mat but Whitman just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Walt Whitman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pwnasaurus Rex.
Rex has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Whitman after a bit of a struggle.

Rex pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Whitman smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A telegraphed right hand from Whitman misses the target.
Whitman throws a jab when Rex was well out of range.
Rex looks for a takedown but Whitman sprawls well.

Whitman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Whitman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rex manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Whitman keeps the fight on the outside.
Rex lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Whitman circles away quickly and effectively.
Whitman throws a series of punches but Rex moves out of range.

Rex shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rex was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rex lands a heavy elbow.
Whitman swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Whitman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Whitman really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Whitman sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rex is keen to just control but Whitman is a slippery customer.
Rex throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Whitman is controlling Rex's trapped leg to prevent Rex from advancing to side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rex stops Whitman from getting back to his feet.
Rex has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Whitman is looking to control Rex's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Whitman avoid being mounted?
Whitman is trying to control but Rex manages to pass to mount!

Rex landing punches.
Rex scoring with strikes but Whitman is staying in there.
Whitman wants to control but Rex is having none of it.

Rex can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Whitman is looking to escape.

Rex throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Whitman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rex wants to control the pace but Whitman is squirming around nicely.
Whitman tries to hold on but Rex pushes him away.

Whitman tries to lock up and control but Rex gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rex looking to finish Whitman with some ground and pound. This is bad for Whitman!
Whitman is looking to get to half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Whitman wants to control but Rex is having none of it.
Rex looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Rex lands a nice shot to the head.


Whitman is rocked!
Rex in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Oh Whitman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Whitman tries to hold on but Rex pushes him away.
Rex unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Whitman wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Rex celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pwnasaurus Rex!
After winning the bout, Pwnasaurus Rex thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
