PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anton Kotov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frau Hitler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kotov's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Heaven shall burn - Counterweight. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Kotov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Frau Hitler!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kotov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Kotov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Kotov stands up.
Hitler shoots in and drives through. Kotov sprawls well.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kotov.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hitler is trying to improve his position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Kotov tries for a kimura but Hitler is defending well.
Hitler is looking for a sweep.

Kotov moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Hitler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kotov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kotov decides to stand back up.
Hitler blocks a head kick by Kotov.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hitler.

Kotov throws a sloppy head kick and Hitler moves out of range easily.
Hitler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kotov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kotov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hitler's guard.
Kotov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hitler controls Kotov momentarily but Kotov frees himself.
Kotov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hitler had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kotov defends it easily.

Kotov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Kotov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hitler tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kotov is in Hitler's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kotov moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hitler has worked his arm free - good work by Hitler!
Hitler should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kotov decides to stand back up. Kotov steps back and let's Hitler get back to his feet.
Hitler thows a body kick. Kotov tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Hitler is breathing heavily.
Good standup being displayed there by Kotov as he connects with a hook.

Kotov has closed the distance and engaged Hitler in a clinch.
Kotov content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Kotov drags the fight down to the ground.
Kotov seems keen to control Hitler's posture.

Hitler tries to stand but Kotov is controlling from the bottom.
Anton Kotov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kotov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kotov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Anton Kotov has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Kotov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kotov lands in his opponent's guard.
Kotov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kotov is in close to Hitler's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kotov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kotov drops back looking for a leg! Hitler is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hitler manages to kick Kotov off! Kotov jumps back into Hitler's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kotov passes Hitler's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hitler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hitler trying to stall but Kotov improves his position.

Kotov tightens his grip and picks Hitler up, before dumping him to the ground. Hitler manages to land in guard.

Hitler is working an open guard so Kotov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Kotov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Hitler shoots in looking for a takedown but Kotov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hitler's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Anton Kotov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frau Hitler.

Kotov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hitler sprawls well initially but Kotov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Kotov decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
A left and a right from Kotov both land. Nice combination.

Kotov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kotov in particular looking to stall.

Kotov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hitler looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
